A New Home Bar on the Danforth?

This could be an entry that I will just keep referring to as it might be a place that I will go back to a bunch.

Terri O's Sports Bar just East of Broadview and Danforth.

From the look of this place on the outside it looks like it would not be the best place. Inside it is better and it has all the makings of a good home bar and a place that we can always get a seat and decent beer and watch a game.

LOTS OF TVS.

Pretty much you can look all over the place and see TVs with the game on. You can also switch them to what you want if you like. Not a ton of people in there mostly regulars on a Thursday night. 1 bartender who was pretty funny and calls you "Hun".

Decent beer on tap and decently cheap beer.

Now on to the food. I had wings. Not bad at all. They were large and meaty and had a decent amount of kick to it even at the Med heat. It comes with fries and is about $7. Decently priced.

I did have some of the burger as well and it was REALLY REALLY good. I will for sure be getting that there again. It was home made and was not over cooked. Huge and juicy it was one of the best burgers I have had in a while. Top notch!!

I will try and put some time in at this place and watch some games.

Pancer's Deli

Hey all.

I thought it was time to introduce you all to my favourite and very famous Deli place in Toronto.

If you like Deli meats and small, quaint restaurants you will love this one.

This place is in a small strip mall just north of Wilson on Bathurst. If you drive too fast you will miss it for sure on the West side.

You will walk in and get tricked by the fake door on the left that is not actually a working door. You can only seat about 30 people in the place and there is also a takeout business deli counter where you can buy by the pound and other things.

Starting with the soup we had both the Matzoh ball soup and the cabbage borscht. The borscht was a sweet and sour soup and the matzoh ball soup was great with 1 HUGE matzoh ball in the middle.

Bringing up the main course we had a huge meat plate with half corned beef and half pastrami. they will ask you if you want lean or medium cut and you should 100% get medium. With the plate you get a huge portion of potato salad, a huge bowl of coleslaw and a pile of rye bread. Now I am a big fan of using the bread and meat with mustard as an open faced sandwich. You can use it however you like though. It is a solid dinner for 2 for about $30 including tip and a soft drink.

Go here and get takeout or eat there for the experience. Get the meat plate and it will be the best corned beef and pastrami in the city!!

The OverDraught Pub

Food, Beer, Friends.

This is what makes for a great night.

I had some friends in town for the night before they flew out to a warm destination that i was jealous about. So we took a page out of the old Halifax book as these were friends from Dalhousie. Irish pub it is.

We took a trip down to front street and settled in for some food beer and maybe even music. As it happens the band of 2 guys with guitars were just finishing up their last set which was king of early at about 8:10.

Not a ton of people in there for a Thursday night but there were some after work crown still in there as well as a couple of couples (pun very much intended). Solid beers on tap and a decent selection.

Now to the food. I started with some Tomato Bruschetta which was actually some of the best I have had in the city. There was lots of cheese and it was on long flat boards which makes it easy to share.

This was followed up with fish and chips. Not the fries were pretty good but were fairly standard. The fish was decent fish but the shape made it look like it was taken out of a Hyliner box. It was kind of like a loaf of banana bread and not like normal pieces of fish. However, the actual fish was pretty good.

Decent waitresses and good atmosphere for talking as there was almost no if any music.

I would go back for some beers and I would for sure get the App again but I think i would go for something other than the fish. I heard the pulled pork at the table was good.

A Polish Breakfast

After a night of being at the bar with a roomate on his birthday, you need a good greasy breakfast to eat the next day.

I found a spot just around the corner from my house just north of the Danforth on Broadview.

This place is a really small quaint family run (assumed) restaurant which as I walked in was described as "International Cuizine". I thought breakfast is international so why not.

Turned out to be a great choice.

Not only was it a tasty breakfast but it was under $5.

Bacon, Eggs, Homefries and toast $4.95 with a juice or a coffee.

Can't beat that and it was exactly what I needed.

A cute polish family seemed to be running the place and I will be going back there many many times.
